The split bow pictured above is a lamination of white oak
with a walnut core. Almost all of the walnut will be
covered with cedar during the stripping process.
On this particular kayak, there will be a 3/16" accent strip
of western red cedar running the length of the deck
which will tie in perfectly with the walnut in the center of
the bow.
